On the Assumption of Mary, we will take you in the footsteps of Gerd Müller on a special train from his main place of work in Munich to his birthplace Nördlingen. Because the population is predominantly Protestant, this is not a public holiday and all shops are open on this day.

The train will be pulled by a steam locomotive from Munich, while the return journey will be made by a historic electric locomotive. In Nördlingen, you can either get to know the historic old town including the Gerd Müller statue as part of a city tour or visit the Bavarian Railway Museum with its extensive vehicle collection. The Ries Steam Days will take place here on this day with a colorful supporting program. Museum admission or the city tour are included in the ticket price.

In memory of Gerd Müller, a native of Nördlingen, at the suggestion of his widow Uschi Müller, €5 from each ticket will go to the Nördlingen Beautification Association.

For group bookings of 5 people or more, we offer a group discount of 10%. The group discount cannot be combined with the booking of entire compartments and family tickets.

We offer you a one-off discount of 10% for all trips booked by January 31, 2024.

When booking an entire compartment, you will receive 6 exclusive seats in a separate compartment in a side aisle car. You can use the compartment individually with 1 - 6 people. Each compartment has two window seats. Only 2nd class compartments can be booked.

Due to the necessary seat reservation, it is not possible to travel spontaneously on long-distance trains. We strongly recommend that you book in advance.

The stated fare is for the outward and return journey, with the trains always departing from the stations in the specified location.

The historic carriages used are not wheelchair accessible, but the train staff will be happy to help you get on and off. Due to the limited space for large pieces of luggage, it would also be helpful if you specify wheelchairs, strollers, etc. when booking.
