Connecting Service from Munich to the Bodensee-Express

Begin your journey in Munich-Pasing, where a historic diesel locomotive will haul the connecting train to meet Bodensee-Express 3.

In Buchloe, both trains unite—an impressive encounter between two heritage formations—before continuing together toward Lindau. From here, the powerful steam locomotive 01 066 takes the lead, carrying you over the scenic and steep Allgäu Railway all the way to Lake Constance.

Group Discounts & Exclusive Compartment Reservations

For group bookings of 5 or more passengers, we offer a 10% group discount.

Please note that this discount cannot be combined with the booking of entire compartments or family tickets.

If you choose to reserve a private compartment, you will enjoy exclusive access to six seats in a separate compartment within a traditional side-corridor coach.

You may use the compartment with any group size from 1 to 6 persons.

Each compartment features two window seats, and only Second Class compartments are available for booking.

Important Reservation Information

Due to the requirement for seat reservations, it is not possible to join the long-distance steam trains spontaneously on the day of travel.

We kindly ask all passengers to make a booking in advance.

The listed fare covers the round trip, and all trains depart from the stations specified in the timetable for your chosen location.

Accessibility & Luggage

Our trains operate with historic rolling stock, which unfortunately is not fully accessible. However, our train crew is happy to assist passengers during boarding and alighting.

Because space is limited inside the vintage carriages, we kindly ask you to inform us during booking if you plan to bring wheelchairs, strollers, or larger items of luggage. This helps us ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for everyone.
